TCF Bank Delivers New Digital Banking Experience with D3’s Digital Banking Solution

WAYZATA, MN – TCF National Bank (TCF Bank), a subsidiary of TCF Financial Corporation (TCF) (NYSE: TCF), and D3 Banking Technology (D3), provider of one of the industry’s leading digital banking innovation platform, today announced that TCF Bank migrated its more than one million customers to D3’s digital banking solution, offering customers a seamless experience across a range of web browsers and device sizes; a re-designed mobile banking app; easier ways to deposit checks, pay bills and transfer money; as well as financial budgeting and savings goal tools. By selecting D3 as its digital banking partner, TCF can quickly scale and adapt its platform to bring new features and functionality to customers as they emerge.

“As we continue to evolve our retail banking experience to deliver leading-edge technology and convenience to our customers, we believe strongly in providing a best-in-class digital banking platform that lets them manage their money whenever and wherever they want,” said Michael S. Jones, executive vice president, consumer banking at TCF. “Our customers have told us they want all of the convenience that comes from mobile deposits through a smartphone, the security of fingerprint ID and the capability to quickly glance at their account information. Working with D3, we created a digital banking experience that is easy to use across any device. We’re excited to have the capability to deliver new innovations and exceed our customers’ expectations in the future – quickly and efficiently.”

“It is no longer enough for financial institutions to simply consolidate their disparate, legacy online, mobile products and services to decrease costs and operational complexity,” said Mark Vipond, CEO of D3 Banking Technology. “Institutions such as TCF Bank understand this and have responded by adopting a digital banking platform strategy that not only addresses this immediate requirement but also provides the foundation required to quickly deploy the innovative services and capabilities required to be at the head of the class long-term.”

TCF’s new digital banking experience includes:

• Mobile Deposit – Customers can deposit checks into their accounts using the mobile app.

• Fingerprint ID – Customers can conveniently and securely access their bank account(s) in seconds with fingerprint ID on compatible devices.

• Quick Glance – Quick glance enables consumers to quickly view their account balance and recent transactions on their mobile device.

• Planning Tools – TCF’s digital banking experience includes helpful budgeting tools to set and track financial goals, view spending history and income, and plan for future expenses. Customers can create budget categories, categorize expenses, see cash flow trends to track their spending and view their progress to reach their goals.

• Full capabilities regardless of device – Customers now have the option of doing all of their banking activities on the device of their choosing. Whether customers want to add a nickname to an account, change their address or phone number or add an e-bill, features are supported across all devices.

TCF’s new digital banking platform is one component of a broader retail banking strategy that began in 2015 and has included a rebranding of the company, expansion of products and services to meet a wide-range of consumer needs, introduction of leading-edge technologies such as Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay, and one of the first large-scale rollouts of new chip-enabled debit cards with touchless payment capabilities. TCF’s digital banking conversion began in May 2017 and encompassed nearly 1.1 million customer accounts.

D3 Banking Technology’s scalable, configurable and extensible digital banking platform enables financial institutions to quickly and continuously introduce innovations that give them a competitive advantage in the marketplace. D3’s modern architecture powers a consistent, intuitive user experience within a comprehensive set of banking services accessible from any digital endpoint.
